Branding can be defined as a design or image that is used to help define the identity of a specific company or person. For my purposes, I consider personal branding photography to be individual head shots, as well as images that reflect a small business owner’s craft in action.
Modern headshots have evolved so much in recent years. Corporate head shots historically had been done with a solid blue, gray, or white backdrop. Typically they are dressed in business attire. Corporate head shots today could be done with the background that includes an executive office or boardroom, or even done outside. You can choose the background that you would like to use. Your professional headshot should reflect the type of business that you are in.
Some offices need to to have everybody that is part of their team to have their professional headshot done at the same time and location. This would be great for office days that would like to include group head shots or teen head shots of different individuals. Corporate head shots are best done on location at your office during a workday, which is easy to be scheduled.
Head shots are used widely by the entertainment industry. It gives casting directors an idea of what an actor looks like before they even decide to bring them in to audition. Acting head shots are meant to showcase as much of your personality as you can within one image. Actors head shots need to be clean, sharp and emotive and that’s what I aim for.
Let’s face it, we are in the midst of the digital age, which means we are doing a lot of our socializing, and dating, on social platforms. It’s common for people to need a few pictures of them showing what their personality is like or what their interests are so that they can use them on social media sites. It’s nothing to be bashful about and I actually do quite a few of these shoots a year. I’ve done many dating photo shoots for people that want professional yet fun images to use on their dating profiles.
Personal branding photography for dating profiles usually takes place at a location of your choice that best fits your personality. This could be your home, a park you like to hike in, or a coffee shop you love to visit. Many people like to include their pets, which I also love because pets just make life better. We would do a couple of outfit changes to make sure you get a variety of images and I’m always doing my best to make it as comfortable and fun as possible.
So many small businesses these days need images for their creative content, websites, and social media. These branding photo shoots will include product photography, action shots of you working in your environment, and some staff headshots. Some of my favorite photo shoots are ones in which I get to photograph people in their favorite environments doing something that they love.
A small business personal branding photography can be good for really any business. Whether you are a baker, a hairstylist, own a pilates studio, have an Airbnb, or even a small restaurant, the possibilities are endless. I will show up to your location of business and photograph all the details that are there and all the people that make your business thrive.
