welcome

Welcome to my blog where you’ll find the latest about what’s been going on in the studio and on location, as well as articles that will help you better prepare for photo shoots.

THE BLOG

How long will it take to see my photos after the session?

I will post a sneak peek of your maternity photo shoot on my social media platforms within 48 hours of your session. You are free to share the images with friends and family. Your final gallery will be ready within 2-3 weeks of your photo shoot and you will receive an email with a link to view your images. You will also have the opportunity to purchase prints and print product, like canvasses, through your gallery and have them delivered directly to your house. I encourage all my clients to print their images and not just leave them on a hard drive or electronic device somewhere.

Do you know any hair and makeup artists that I can use for my maternity session?

I can’t stress enough how important it is to have your hair and makeup professionally done for your photo shoot. You’re about to give birth to a human being, you deserve a little pampering for your photo shoot. Plus, the hair and makeup bring out such confidence, especially in mamas that may be a little hesitant about posing in front of the camera. If you don’t already have a relationship with a hair and makeup artist, I have referrals for a few amazing ones that I trust implicitly.

Where will the maternity photo shoot take place?

I have a full-service studio in Brea, CA, but you have the option to also do the maternity session on location at any park or beach in Orange County. A studio maternity photo shoot is good for mamas who may want to show a little more skin and do a semi-nude maternity. Studio maternity sessions are also good for mamas with a crazy schedule because they can be scheduled at any time of day or night since the lighting is controlled in the studio.

An outdoor maternity photo shoot is good for mamas that want a romantic, ethereal look to their maternity pictures. There are a number of parks or beaches that I can suggest for you, depending on the look that you’re going for.

Who can I bring to the maternity photo shoot?

I encourage mamas to bring their partner or other children to their maternity photo shoot. It’s a great record of your life as a family right before the new bundle of joy arrives. However, that’s not always possible in terms of scheduling so it’s perfectly fine to have the maternity session only focus on yourself and do the pictures solo.

What should I wear to my maternity session?

I have a client closet full of maternity dresses in all sizes, shapes, and colors so that you don’t have to purchase or bring anything to your photo shoot. Whether you like a tight silhouette or a princess ball gown, I have you covered. Once you book your maternity photo shoot with me, you can go through the maternity dresses to choose the one that most flatters your body shape. The only thing that you will have to think about is your undergarments. I ask that you bring nude colored undergarments so that they don’t show under any dress that you choose to wear.

When should I schedule my maternity photo shoot?

I prefer to do my maternity photo shoots when mama is between 30 – 34 weeks pregnant. That is typically the time when mama is rocking a nice belly bump but still feels good enough to do a photo shoot. Of course, we can do a maternity shoot at any point during your pregnancy, that timeframe is just my recommendation.
